Current, former and future female athletes are invited and encouraged to attend Affton’s second annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebration on Feb. 11.
The celebration will be held during halftime of the Affton High School girls varsity basketball game against Ritenour. Tip-off is at 5 p.m. at Affton High School, 8309 MacKenzie Road.
The event will honor current outstanding student-athletes, champion athletes, coaches, administrators and former Lady Cougars. There will be stations and exhibits for each girls sport, and all girls sports will be recognized during in-game shoutouts. Alumni seating will be reserved behind the home team’s bench.
Additionally, donations to help fund girls sports programs at Affton will be collected at the door.
