Affton church to offer free Thanksgiving meal

Affton Christian Church, 9625 Tesson Ferry Road, will provide a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28.

“This is the fifth year we are offering this free meal to the community. We know that many people continue to struggle, not only with finances, but also with feeling alone in the world,” the Rev. David Woodard, lead pastor of the church, stated in a news release.

Affton Christian Church served more than 320 meals last Thanksgiving, according to the release.

This year, the church is preparing to serve 400 meals to those in Affton and adjacent communities.

“In addition to helping those who are hurting financially, we are finding more and more people who simply don’t want to be alone on Thanksgiving Day. Feeding the hungry and building community is part of our church’s mission,” Woodard stated.

Delivery of meals or transportation to and from the church can be provided for south county residents. For deliveries, transportation needs or more information, contact the church office at (314) 631-5777.
