Editor’s note: With students in and out of in-person schooling this school year due to the pandemic, there are fewer activities students are able to participate in at school that we can share with the community. So this holiday season we are revisiting past stories. This is from October 2010.
Bierbaum Elementary students and staff welcomed more than 300 guests for the school’s inaugural Grandparents and Grandfriends Day on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010. Students invited their grandparents and special friends to the event, where they made crafts and sang songs together while enjoying snacks provided by the Bierbaum PTO. The students also shared poems and other writing projects with their guests.
“It was a wonderful day, and we enjoyed our grandparents and special friends so much,” said Bierbaum Principal Kristy Roberts. “We loved having them come to school and see our awesome students and teachers.”
