Fifth-grade Girl Scouts at Crestwood Elementary have been bringing new life to the school’s Outdoor Learning Area. They have rebuilt a wooden bridge, stabilized the classroom benches, cleared out overgrown growth and made stepping stones. They also wrote a grant and received money to purchase an outdoor shed. The girls’ most recent project was building different types of birdhouses using re-purposed wood from the handrails that were replaced on the bridge. These birdhouses will be placed throughout the outdoor learning area.
