2021 Missouri Teacher of the Year and Crestwood Elementary School physical education teacher Darrion Cockrell attended the College Football Playoff National Championship Game Jan. 10 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis along with other state teachers of the year. Cockrell was named Missouri Teacher of the Year in September 2020 and is known by his students as “Mr. DC.” His dedication to teaching has also earned him other unique experiences – in 2020, Cockrell was one of 10 teachers honored by Chance the Rapper in “The Twilight Awards,” a special broadcast recognizing teachers.
