Yum Yum Cake

Ingredients:

½ cup butter

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

2 cups sifted flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup sour cream

1 teaspoon vanilla

Topping:

¹/3 cup brown sugar

¼ cup white sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 cup finely chopped pecans

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with flour mixture.

Stir in vanilla.

Pour half of the batter into a greased 10-by-7-inch baking dish and cover with half of the nut mixture. Pour remaining batter over nut mixture and top with rest of the nut topping.

Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 50 minutes.

Can be used as a coffee cake sprinkled with a little powdered sugar or a decadent cake with vanilla glaze poured on top.
