The John Sappington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution was joined by several local veterans, Crestwood Mayor Scott Shipley and the Crestwood Fire Department to commemorate Veterans Day with a wreath-laying ceremony on Nov. 11 at the Veterans Memorial Plaza, located near the entrance of Crestwood City Hall, 1 Detjen Drive.
All members of the community were invited.
“Veterans Day calls us to remember the courage, commitment and resilience of those who have worn the uniform of the United States of America. Our community came together not only to recognize their service but also to reflect on the profound sacrifices made to protect the freedoms we enjoy and often take for granted,” Shipley said. “Our veterans come from all walks of life. They served in different decades, in far-reaching corners of the globe, yet they share a common bond: a profound dedication to something greater than themselves.”
