As the spread of COVID-19 continues, the St. Louis County Department of Public Health said Friday that “getting tested has never been more important.”

More than 225,000 COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far in St. Louis County.

“Testing is crucial to efforts to contain the spread of the virus and is a major factor in understanding the patterns of its spread,” the health department said. “This is how to prevent others from catching it.“

The county will hold a pop-up drive-thru testing site Saturday and Sunday in Affton.

As additional information is learned about this virus, it is becoming more clear that asymptomatic spread is a key factor. Health experts encourage anyone who has or has had close contact with the public to get a test – even if they don’t have symptoms and haven’t had direct contact with someone who was positive. Testing is available to anyone who requests it in St. Louis County.

To make an appointment for a free test through St. Louis County Department of Public Health, visit stlcorona.com and click on “COVID-19 Testing.” If you don’t have access
to the internet, call 314-615-0574.

Drive-thru testing is done five days a week at the following  DPH clinics:

4580 S. Lindbergh Blvd. in South County

6121 North Hanley Road in Berkeley
