To the editor:
I wonder if it’s better to have no state representative or to have a state representative that actively votes against the will of his constituents?
Six months ago, the voters in District 94 overwhelmingly passed Proposition A (minimum wage increase) and Amendment 3 (reproductive rights), and Jim Murphy has voted to overturn the will of his constituents. District 95 has no representative, since Mike O’Donnell resigned immediately after being sworn into office. Funny that the mayor of the dysfunctional City of St. Louis can schedule an election to fill a vacant alderman seat in less than three months, but the governor can’t schedule an election to fill the representative seat vacant since November. Considering the disregard of the will of the voters, maybe it’s better off vacant.
