The Kathy J. Weinman Shelter is the only emergency shelter for domestic violence survivors in St. Louis County and it has recently begun collecting donations for survivors at the shelter.

The donation program launched in March as a “treat yourself spa closet,” featuring personal care items that go above basic needs like soap and shampoo. Weinman Funding Administrator and Volunteer Coordinator Emily Burgess said the shelter is collecting items like makeup, salt and sugar scrubs, manicure and pedicure kits and other similar items.

“The women of the shelter absolutely love this program,” Burgess said. “It has really been an opportunity for them to take care of themselves and do something a little bit nice.”

There are several donation drop-off locations across the county.

  • The Pavilion at Lemay, 305 Gregg Road
  • Affton Community Center, 9801 MacKenzie Road
  • St. Vincent Community Center, 7335 St. Charles Rock Road
  • North County Recreation Complex, 2577 Redman Avenue
  • Roos Administration Building, S. Central Avenue in Clayton
  • Northwest Crossings (Workforce Development entrance), 500 NW Plaza Drive
  • Any branch of the St. Louis County Library, https://www.slcl.org/branches
