To the editor:

As a long-time resident of Oakville, I recommend reelecting Ed Ryan to The Mehlville Fire Protection Board of Directors.

Ed Ryan is an integral part of the three-member Board of Directors looking out for the taxpayers in Mehlville. Additionally, Ed and the other board members are diligent in providing competitive compensation for district employees.

During Ed’s 18-year service on the Board of Directors have maintained one of the lowest tax basis in the St. Louis area while services and employee training improved.

Whoever heard of such a thing? Ed, along with Aaron Hilmer and Bonnie Stegman, returned the district to a fiscally sound position. Through the efforts of Ed and the three-member board, MFPD has been able to build several new fire houses and provide new equipment and pay cash.

Do not be deceived by misleading statements from the other two candidates for this important position who are supported by special interests.

Ed Ryan and the three-member Board of Directors have a long-time record of accomplishments while serving on the Mehlville Fire Board of Directors. Do not gamble on another unproven candidate.

Vote for Ed Ryan on April 8 and encourage your circle of friends to do the same.
