Sixth District County Councilman Ernie Trakas, R-Oakville, will conduct a town-hall meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at Lemay GymStars, 210 Weiss Ave.

Attendees should park at the American Legion Hall directly behind GymStars. Staff will be directing traffic.

Trakas plans to have quarterly town-hall meetings with the goal of having citizens engaged with their county government.

“Just power up your computer, device, or turn on your favorite source of media and you will hear the phrase President Trump’s First 100 days in office,” Trakas wrote to his “Friends of Ernie” email list. “County Council may not be the presidency, but it is your local government and your opportunity to be involved…

“You have heard me say many times it is our duty and responsibility to be engaged in government. This e-mail provides two simple ways to get involved. Yes, it is a sacrifice of your time, but this sacrifice pales in comparison to the many who have paid the ultimate price to ensure our liberties.

I look forward to meeting with you March 30.”
