The Magic House in Kirkwood and its St. Louis city satellite location, MADE for Kids, will reopen in the coming weeks, joining other area attractions opening their doors as coronavirus restrictions begin to ease in St. Louis County and the city.
The Magic House announced Monday that The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum, 516 S. Kirkwood Road, will reopen Monday, June 15, while the satellite location in the city, MADE for Kids, 5127 Delmar Blvd., will reopen Tuesday, June 9.
Attendance will be limited to a fraction of The Magic House’s capacity and will require advance ticket sales and member registrations to access the facilities.
The museum’s hours of operation have also been adjusted to accommodate time for deep cleaning throughout the day. The new protocols “follow and exceed” national, state and local guidelines and industry best practices, The Magic House said in the news release.
Visitors will be able to schedule their visit during one of three two-hour visits.
Reservations can be made online at www.magichouse.org/reservations. Visitors will receive an electronic ticket to allow for touchless scanned entry in the museum.
Visitors over the age of 9 will be required to wear a face cover. Face coverings will be available for purchase.
“We know how important learning experiences are for kids, especially as they have lost so much time in school this year,” said Beth Fitzgerald, president at The Magic House, in the release. “We look forward to welcoming our visitors back through our doors very soon!”
Additional health and safety modifications include:
● Personal material kits to provide for one-user only supplies for experiences throughout the facility
● Increased hand sanitizer and wipe stations
● Daily staff health screenings
● Social distancing floor makers and reminder signage
