South County families and students gathered at Hancock Place Elementary School on Oct. 3 for the Taste of Lemay-Affton Business Expo.

The school’s gymnasium became a swarm of conversation and music as guests tried food from various restaurants and perused the booths of assorted businesses. Younger students in yellow volunteer shirts went around cleaning up trash or seeing to the needs of the community. Band members performed a few compositions as people ate.

The Taste of Lemay-Affton is put on by the Affton-Lemay Chamber of Commerce, and this year, the event’s primary sponsor was River City Casino and Hotel.
