Charlie and Marilyn Hoessle of Sunset Hills celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on Jan. 5 with a family gathering.

Marilyn (nee Mueller) and Charlie were married on Jan. 5, 1952, in St. Louis. 

Mr. Hoessle worked at the St. Louis Zoo for 40 years, including a 20-year tenure as the zoo director. He retired from the zoo in 2002. 

The couple has four children – two daughters who reside in St. Louis, a son who lives in Alaska and a son who lives in Colorado – as well as four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
