The St. Louis County Library has announced the return of one its most popular programs – the Star Wars Fan Fest this Friday. The 2022 Star Wars Fan Fest will feature appearances by “This Week! In Star Wars” YouTube host Kristin Baver and “Star Wars: The High Republic” Lead Story Architect Daniel Jose Older.

The event will take place May 6 from 6-9 p.m. at the Grant’s View branch, 9700 Musick Road.

A celebration of all things Star Wars, this annual event attracts hundreds of Star Wars fans of all ages. The 2022 Fan Fest will include photo opportunities with costumed characters from the 501st Legion International Star Wars Costuming Organization, the Kona Ice shaved ice truck, a brass band performance of Star Wars music, a scavenger hunt, crafts, games and more. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite character.

An associate editor for StarWars.com, Kristin Baver also hosts the popular YouTube show “This Week! in Star Wars.” Baver has written many children’s and non-fiction books on Star Wars, most recently “Star Wars Year by Year: A Visual History” and “Skywalker: A Family at War.” There will be a book signing opportunity at 6:30 p.m.

Daniel Jose Older is a lead story architect for “Star Wars: The High Republic” and author of the monthly comic series “The High Republic Adventures.” In Older’s latest “High Republic” novel, “Midnight Horizon,” Jedi Knights and their Padawans will be put to the ultimate test when they confront the anarchistic marauders known as the Nihil. There will be a book signing opportunity at 7:30 p.m.

Books will be available for purchase from the Novel Neighbor.
