Staffing to be focus of COMPASS meeting

Staffing will be the focus of a community-engagement session scheduled next week by the Mehlville School District.

District staffing, including class sizes, teacher training and staff retention, will be discussed Monday, Nov. 5, during the sixth of 11 community-sessions being conducted as part of COMPASS — Charting the Oakville-Mehlville Path to Advance Successful Schools.

Assistant Superintendent for Human Re-sources Lisa Counts will present a detailed staffing report at the meeting, which will run from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bernard Middle School, 1054 Forder Road.

Hundreds of parents and residents are participating in COMPASS.

Ultimately, COMPASS will utilize the data it compiles to develop a comprehensive, long-range plan for the district and a list of recommendations to present to the Board of Education in May.

The COMPASS sessions are open to the public. Registration is available by calling (314) 467-5002 or by sending an e-mail to compass@mehlville.k12.mo.us.
