St. Louis County residents can stay informed on the county’s Senior Property Tax Program by signing up for updates on the county website.
Residents can sign up by visiting the program’s webpage and clicking the “subscribe” button.
The County Council approved additional funding in July to help the Department of Revenue make the necessary hires and technology purchases to implement the program. According to the department, once staff and software are in place, the application phase will open. The application deadline is June 30, 2025.
“As Saint Louis County gets closer to opening the application process, constituents will be provided with complete instructions including the list of documents needed to complete an application and contact information for questions and assistance,” county communications staff stated in a press release.
More details on the application process are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
Eligible applicants must be 62 years old, have ownership interest in the property for which they are applying, must primarily reside in the property for which they are applying, must be responsible for the payment of taxes for that property and may not claim more than one primary residence.
