A number of local primary races were decided in elections on Tuesday, Aug. 6.
Among the key races for South County, 6th District Councilman Ernie Trakas, R-Oakville, lost his reelection bid in the Republican primary for a third term against attorney Mike Archer. Archer will now face former Mehlville School District Board of Education president Kevin Schartner in the General Election on Nov. 5.
In the Republican primary for the Missouri House of Representatives 92nd District, Kenneth Abram defeated Cijo Mathews to run against Rep. Michael Burton, D-Lakeshire, in November.
Here are the unofficial election results from St. Louis County with 100% of precincts reporting for the 6th County Council District and 92nd Missouri House District. Results are unofficial until confirmed in two weeks.
St. Louis County Council – 6th District
Mike Archer – 6,757 votes or 51.7%
Ernie Trakas – 6,313 votes or 48.3%
Missouri House of Representatives – 92nd District
Kenneth Abram – 2,196 votes or 76.22%
Cijo Mathews – 685 votes or 23.78%

St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell was successful in his Democratic primary challenge of progressive congresswoman Cori Bush, who represents Missouri’s 1st District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
