Trivia night | A trivia night, emceed by St. Louis Classic Rock Preservation Society officer and Crestwood alderman John Sebben, will be held at the Crestwood Community Center, 9245 Whitecliff Park Lane, starting at 7 p.m. All proceeds will support the rebuilding and repurposing of the 1816 Joseph Sappington Log House at its new location at Historic Sappington Park at 1015 S. Sappington Road. The Rockin’ Route 66 Trivia Night will turn the headlights on Route 66’s 100th anniversary with questions and prizes. There will be a silent auction for raffle baskets and an oral bidding auction for selected big prizes. A winning first-place prize of $200, 50/50, mulligans and more will be part of the trivia fun. Registration is mandatory at the rate of $200 for table of eight. Dive into history | Ulysses S. Grant did not preserve letters Julia wrote to her husband, but fortunately Julia left behind her memoirs as well as the letters Ulysses sent her, starting with their long-distance courtship. Using those words, speaker Diana Carlin paints a picture of the woman who was a daughter of the West, a soldier’s wife, a first lady and an intrepid world traveler. Carlin is professor emerita of communication at Saint Louis University and a former associate provost. She is currently completing a chapter on Julia Grant’s memoir for a book to be published by the University Press of Kansas. The program is free, but call 314-842-1867 ext. 230 for reservations. St. Patrick’s Gala | The Southwest Area Chamber of Commerce St. Patrick’s Gala will take place from 6 – 10 p.m. at the LiUNA Event Center, 4532 Lindbergh Blvd. There will be hors d’oeuvres, a premium bar, dinner, dessert, a silent auction and music. A portion of the proceeds from the 2026 Southwest Area Chamber of Commerce Event goes toward the Chamber Scholarship Fund. Help those in need | The River Rock Church of Lemay will host its Better Rest program for families in the Lemay community who have children in need of a bed. Volunteers are wanted. Volunteers will go to homes to meet families and measure the bedrooms to make sure the bunk beds will fit. The church also needs volunteers to go into homes, build the bunk beds and gift bedding and Bibles. Donate new twin-size bedding, pillows, sheets, comforters and blankets at River Rock Church, 1601 Telegraph Road, from 9 a.m. to noon. Call the church office at 314-968-0600 if you have questions.
Annual meat shoots | The St. Francis Knights of Columbus will host its Charity Family-Friendly Indoor Meat Shoot at 1 p.m. at 7381 Telegraph Road. There will be refreshments for purchase. Shoots will happen every Sunday through March 29.
