St. Louis County police officers from the Affton Southwest Precinct are investigating a motor vehicle crash that resulted in the death of one adult male at South Lindbergh Boulevard and Interstate 55 over the weekend.
At 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 30, St. Louis County police officers from the Affton Southwest Precinct responded to a call for service for a vehicle crash at South Lindbergh Boulevard near I-55.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers located a male driver inside of a vehicle. The driver has since been identified as Max Ketchum, 71, of the 2900 block of Caspian Lane, 63125.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Ketchum was traveling in the eastbound lanes of South Lindbergh Boulevard when his vehicle veered from the lane and struck a concrete light pole. This caused the vehicle to roll over, trapping Ketchum inside.
Ketchum was extricated and transported to an area hospital for lifesaving treatment but was later pronounced deceased.
