The St. Louis County Parks Department is hosting several holiday events this weekend around the county, including two events Saturday and Sunday in South County.
On Saturday, Dec. 10, there will be a candy cane scavenger hunt at the Pavilion at Lemay in Jefferson Barracks Park, 305 Gregg Road, at 9 a.m. The event is for children ages 2 to 12 and admission is $5. Pre-register at www.mo-stlouiscounty.civicrec.com/MO/st-louis-county-mo/catalog.
Visit the St. Vincent Community Center, 7335 St. Charles Rock Road, Saturday, Dec. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. to write letters to Santa. There will be hot cocoa and participants can personalize their own ornament. Admission is $5.
On Sunday, Dec. 11, skate with Santa and The Grinch at the Kennedy Recreation Complex, 6050 Wells Road, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for children ages 4 to 12 and seniors 65 and older, and $6 for ages 13 to 65. Children under 3 are free. Skate rental is $2 per person.
