Ed Ryan, who has served on the Mehlville Fire Protection District Board of Directors since 2007, plans to seek re-election to his director’s post in the April 2 election.
Filing for the seat currently held by Ryan will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the district’s headquarters, 11020 Mueller Road, Green Park.
Filing will continue from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and conclude at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15. The seat carries a six-year term.
Ryan, who has served as secretary since April 2007, said he has enjoyed working with Chief Brian Hendricks, board Chairman Aaron Hilmer and board Secretary Bonnie Stegman.
“ I think we’ve accomplished a lot,” he told the Call. “So I want to continue to support the present board, so I think I’ll be signing up (for re-election).
“ There’s times when I feel we’re contributing to the community. The chief, the assistant chiefs, they have a very, very high level of professionalism that really impresses me.”
Ryan retired in June from the Parkway School District, where he served as an electrical engineer/project manager.
