Mehlville Senior High School Class of 2007 Valedictorian Jessica Rapp has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Truman Leadership Award Scholarship from Truman State University.
This academic scholarship and several others she has received, including the Missouri Higher Education Academic “Bright Flight,” the Missouri Scholars Academy, the Combined Ability Scholarship and the President’s Honorary Scholarship, have earned her a full ride at Truman.
Rapp was awarded these scholarships for her excellent co-curricular leadership experiences and her outstanding academic re-cord.
Among her leadership experiences are:
Elected co-editor in chief for the 2006-2007 school year for Mehlville’s Student Prints newspaper.
Served as vice president of the Math Club as a senior.
Served as vice president of finance for the Math Club as a junior.
Started The Attic, a literary magazine at Mehlville.
Appointed secretary of the Freshman Executive Committee.
Served as a representative of the Student Executive Council from 10th to 12th grade.
A member of both the National Honor Society and the German National Honor Society, among her other academic accomplishments are:
Earned a 4.0 cumulative grade-point average.
Enrolled in honors and advanced courses.
Participated in college-credit courses as a junior and senior.
Received the Perfect Attendance Award.
Although Rapp has a passion for journalism, she realizes that with her academic background and talents her options are endless. She plans to keep an open mind when focusing on her studies at Truman. She is the daughter of Steven and Lisa Rapp.
