Ramp closures scheduled this weekend at I-44/I-270 interchange

Ramp closures scheduled this weekend at I-44/I-270 interchange

Drivers who use Interstate 44 near Interstate 270 in Sunset Hills should allow for extra time or consider alternative routes due to ramp closures this weekend.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the westbound I-44 ramp to southbound I-270 (exit 260) Friday, Aug. 11 at 8 p.m. for preventative bridge maintenance. The ramp to northbound I-270 will remain open.

The ramp from southbound I-270 to westbound I-44 (exit 5B) along with lanes on southbound I-270 near the exit will also close Friday at 8 p.m. The ramp from southbound I-270 to eastbound I-44 will remain open.

Both ramps are scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14. All work is subject to change and may be shifted due to inclement weather.

To detour around the westbound to southbound ramp closure, drivers should continue west on I-44 and take the exit to North Highway Drive (exit 275), cross the interstate at Mraz, follow South Highway Drive to eastbound I-44 and take exit 276 for southbound I-270.

To detour around the southbound to westbound closure, drivers should continue on southbound I-270 to Route 30/Gravois Road (exit 3), cross over the interstate and continue northbound to get to westbound I-44.
