Phase 1 construction of Lindbergh Schools’ Proposition R 2024 began at Truman Middle School earlier this month.
This portion of construction includes the conversion of the old pool area and tile gym into temporary classrooms, asbestos abatement in the old pool and tile gym areas, demolition and remodeling of student locker rooms and converting warehouse space on the school’s lower level into new classrooms.
Other Truman Middle School projects made possible by Prop R 2024 include upgrading security systems, adding exterior door alarms and safety glass, removing window air conditioning units in all classrooms and upgrading mechanical systems building-wide.
Prop R 2024 – a $150 million no-tax-rate-increase bond measure – won with over 70% of the vote in April. The bond is being used to fund continued facility and safety improvements across the district, building on the work of 2019’s Prop R and ensuring equitable learning experiences for all Lindbergh Schools students and staff.
