The South County precinct of the St. Louis County Police Department is warning residents of reports of a phone scam happening in the area.
A caller is claiming to be “Sgt. Sam Thomas of the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department” and requests money, or tell the victim they have a warrant.
The county police department reminds residents that it does not call individuals requesting any type of payment or personal information.
