The St. Louis County Planning Commission unanimously recommended a conditional use permit request from Dharmesh Sharma to move the location of A1 Wine & Spirit from its current address, 4334 Telegraph Road, to the former Oakville Dairy Queen, 4312 Telegraph Road. Both addresses are in the same shopping center.

The commission first heard his petition at its June public hearing. Sharma said that he is seeking to move because the space his store is currently in is too small.

“The proposed package liquor store has been operating in the retail center since 2013 without a CUP and the operation is outgrowing its current space, thus this would also bring them into conformance,” County planning staff said at the commission’s July 1 executive session.

Staff recommended the petition to the commission, with the conditions that window signs and temporary parking lot signage be prohibited, and that the Dairy Queen freestanding sign on Telegraph Road be removed.

The commission voted 7-0 to recommend.
