Students across the Mehlville School District wore their pajamas to school Dec. 8 as part of a fundraiser for The Backstoppers Inc. in memory of St. Louis County Police Department Detective Antonio Valentine. Valentine was a coach for the Junior Panthers football team, the Mehlville middle school football program that feeds into Mehlville High School. He was killed while on-duty earlier in December. The district will present a check to the Backstoppers and Valentine’s family in the future.
