Part of Gravois Road will close for bridge replacement

Gravois Road from west of Grant Road to east of Musick Road soon will be closed to allow for the replacement of the aging Gravois Creek bridge, according to a news release issued by the Missouri Department of Transportation.

MoDOT and contractor Pace Construction Co. will close Gravois Road from Monday, Feb. 2, until Saturday, April 4, weather permitting, the release stated.

The new Gravois Creek bridge will feature turn lanes for Grant/McNary Roads, shoulders and a pedestrian sidewalk.

This project is expected to be completed in late 2009.

Motorists will be able to access Musick Road from eastbound Gravois Road and McNary/Grant from westbound Gravois Road, according to the release.

Motorists may experience delays during this work and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

MoDOT officials urge motorists to plan ahead.
