Roy J. Bockenholt, Jr., 71, of St. Louis died on May 29, 2025.

Roy was the beloved husband of the late Rita A. (nee Kountzman) Bockenholt; the loving father of Tanya Bockenholt and Timothy (Megan Coleman) Bockenholt; the dear grandfather of Zachary (Ashley Pickett) Dillon and Jeremy Dillon; and the dear brother of Debra A. (the late Donald) Bammert. Roy was loved by many cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, friends, coworkers and many more.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy J. and Margaret (nee Schaefer) Bockenholt, Sr.

Roy loved his family, fishing, landscaping and friends. He was a member of the St. Clair Anglers Board and had many other hobbies. He attended St. Andrew Catholic Church for many years in Lemay and graduated from Bayless High School.

He worked for the Missouri Highway Department from 1974 until his retirement in 2009, where he was a traffic signal supervisor. He earned some degrees through the department as well.

The visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until time of service at noon on June 9 at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road. Interment to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Please share memories at www.hoffmeistersouthcounty.com.
