Rodman Lawrence Thorn, 82, of St. Louis died March 27, 2024.

He was born April 15, 1941, in St. Louis to Lawrence R. and Marie “Betty” Thorn.

He is survived by his wife Edna “Dolly” Thorn; his children Cristine and Steven; his brother Donald J. Thorn; his sister Cheryl Thorn Linneman; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Known for many years as "The Tomato Man of South County", Rodman had nearly an acre of land at his residence in tomatoes which he sold at a roadside stand, to local restaurants, and he always shared with friends and family. Later he began working with wood and from his home garage, he made and sold over 300 workbenches of various sizes to customers in Missouri and Illinois. He enjoyed vacationing in Branson, watching the St Louis Cardinals on TV, and he shared stories with neighbors and friends from his outside lawn chair. A lifelong animal lover, neighbors visited frequently on walks with their dogs always leaving with a doggie treat!

He was a 1959 graduate of Bayless High School and he maintained many close friendships with classmates throughout the years.
