Obituary For Rita Ann Bockenholt (nee Kountzman)

Burial Date: November 30, 2018. Rita Ann Bockenholt, 62, of St. Louis, died Nov. 21. Ms. Bockenholt was born Nov. 26, 1955, in St. Louis to Jacquline Kountzman and Earl Kountzman. She is survived by her husband, Roy J Bockenholt; daughter Tanya M Bockenholt; and son Timmy Bockenholt; brother Steve Kountzman, sister-in-law Nancy Kountzman, sister Donna Westray, brother-in-law Dennis Westray, sister Lisa Collier, brother-in-law James Collier, brother Ronnie Kountzman, sister Julie Womack and sister-in-law Debbie Bammert; grandson Zachary Dillon and grandson Jeremy Dillon. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends. Rita was preceded in death by her father; mother; and brother-in-law Don Bammert. First and most important for Rita was her family and her friends. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and dear friend. She also had a passion for her work. She worked 43 years with SSM Rehabilitation first as a physical therapy assistant and later in her career in the clerical area. Some of Ritas favorite things included being outdoors, swimming, going to the lake, family trips, going to school functions for the kids and grandkids anytime she could spend time with family and friends. For Rita, if you were a friend you were family. Her fun-loving and generous presence is greatly missed, but the good memories and good example she left will always remain with those who loved her. A visitation for Rita will be held Friday, Nov. 30, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road. A funeral service will be on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 11:30 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. The graveside service will follow the funeral at Mount Hope Cemetery, 1215 Lemay Ferry Road. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ritas memory may be made to Pink Ribbon Girls, www.pinkribbongirls.org or Saint Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness, www.sloca.org. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.HoffmeisterSouthCounty.com for the Bockenholt family.
