Burial Date: May 18, 2019. Rev. Paul Aaron Porter, Ph.D., 60, passed suddenly in his sleep April 27, 2019. Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Cindie Luhman (nee DeCoster); children Emme Porter DeWitt and Tristan (Laina) Porter; stepchildren Eric Luhman, Beth (Ryan) Gissal and Trevor Luhman; grandchildren Jacqueline and Landon Porter; siblings Judy (Russ) Roberts, Billy (Susan) Porter, Patti Woods and David (Kathy) Porter; many cousins, family, and friends. Paul is predeceased by his parents Calvin and June Porter (nee Clark) from Westfield, Massachusetts. Pastor Paul was the beloved pastor of Eden United Church of Christ in Affton, served as the president of the Affton Christian Food Pantry and had been active in fostering, rehabilitating and providing hospice for senior dogs with his wife Cindie through Senior Dogs 4 Seniors. The family will be available for visitation between 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2019. Both events will be at the Eden United Church of Christ, 8920 Eden Ave., Affton, 63123. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Paul Porter Memorial Fund, c/o Eden United Church of Christ, 8920 Eden Ave., Affton, 63123. Funds will be donated to charities close to Pauls heart: Affton Christian Food Pantry, International Partners in Mission and to a memorial project dedicated to Eden UCC.
