U.S. Veteran. Milton E. Simunich, 98, died May 23. He was eight weeks away from the age of 99 years. Milton was born July 23, 1923 in Belleville, Illinois where he resided until 1984, when he then moved to the South County area. He spent his last 5 years living at the Bethesda Terrace Retirement Apts in Oakville. Milton was married nearly 60 years to the late Dorothy Simunich. He was a dear father to Edward Simunich, Dorothy Uhlig and Edwin Simunich along with their spouses, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Milton served in World War II in the 7th Army, 2756 Combat Engineer under General Patton in North Africa, Italy, France & Austria. He was privileged to have gone on the Greater St. Louis Honor Flight in 2014. He was part of the greatest generation and he will truly be missed byhis family, friends and Bethesda family.
