Obituary For Marie Katherine Sanfilippo
Marie Katherine Sanfilippo, 87, of St. Louis died Nov. 25, 2024.
Marie was born in St. Louis on Jan. 20, 1937 to the late Vincent P. (“Jimmy”) and Marie A. (nee Svetlik) Sanfilippo.
She is survived by her sister, Carol A. Rockwell of St. Louis; her brother, Vincent P. (Joyce) Sanfilippo of Washington, MO; her nieces and nephews, Kenneth A. Rockwell Jr. of Philadelphia, Karen M. Fischer of Barnhart, Diane K. Rockwell of St. Louis, Christina M. Sanfilippo of Ridgewood, NY, Patrick V. Sanfilippo of Arnold and Jonathan P. Sanfilippo of Arnold; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Over the course of her life, Marie worked in several professions, including as a secretary at International Shoe Company in downtown St. Louis and later in dietetics at Shriner’s Hospital for Children and Bethesda Southgate nursing home.
She enjoyed babysitting for her many nieces and nephews and was known for her frugal and stubborn ways.
Marie graduated in 1955 from St. Mark’s Academy in North St. Louis and was a member of Assumption Catholic Church (Mattese).
