U.S. Veteran. Leroy J. Luechtefeld, 87, Good Ol Lee died Aug. 15. He was born April 13, 1933 in St. Labory, Illinois, served in the Army during the Korean War and worked in the tool and die industry for more than 40 years. Beloved husband of Janine Luechtefeld (nee Nevitt) and the late Evelyn Luechtefeld (nee Kramer); loving father and stepfather of Kris Pleimann (Edward Turner); Marcia Webster (Jim); Patti Parnell (Dan); Sharon Owens; and Donald Mayfield. Loving and proud grandfather Po Po of Niki Matecki (Joe); Kyle and Evan Webster; Sean and Kristin Owens; and Estelle Banderman; great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many. Lee was an avid model train enthusiast. He loved playing horseshoes, bowling, boating, the Lake of the Ozarks and his beloved dogs Sparkie and Trixie. He was always willing to lend a hand and could fix anything. He never met a stranger, loved telling stories and playing pranks and tricks on his family and friends. Services are private. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
