Obituary For Jack Hamilton
Jack Hamilton was born in Walters, Oklahoma, March 8, 1921, and died in Grand Junction, Colorado, Dec. 8, 2023.
Jack Hamilton was an evangelist in the Nazarene Church. He began his ministry in 1941, conducting hundreds of revival meetings throughout the nation over the next 24 years. In 1965, he began a teaching career in social studies and math at the middle school level in Jacksonville, Florida; Willard and Mt. Vernon, Missouri, near Springfield; and Arnold until his retirement in 1982. During these years, Jack continued in the evangelistic field in the summer months and returned to that and supply pastoring throughout the Midwest for the next 20 years, culminating with the pastorate of a church in Irondale.
Jack was a graduate of both Southern Nazarene University, near Oklahoma City, and Northwest Nazarene University, near Boise, Idaho, with degrees in theology and philosophy. He later graduated with a master’s degree in communications from Western Colorado State in Gunnison.
He is survived by his son, Kent (Mary) Hamilton of Grand Junction; grandson, Kregg (Kelli) Hamilton; and great grandchildren, Jess and Elle of St. Louis.
