Burial Date: November 24, 2020. Frances L. Goebel (nee Leaf), 93, of St. Louis, died Nov. 19 at Mercy Hospital South. She was born in St. Louis to Frank and Helen Leaf and married Ken Goebel at St. Paul United Church of Christ in St. Louis Sept. 17, 1949. She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Dennis) Kurtz of Oakville; son Tom (Eileen) Goebel of Oakville; Daughter Linda (Bob) Bender of St. Louis; grandson David (Ashley) Kurtz of St. Louis; grandson Tim (Ashley) Kurtz of St. Louis; granddaughter Whitney (Justin) Ficker of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandson Andrew (Catherine) Goebel of St. Louis; granddaughter Kelly Goebel of St. Louis; grandson Matthew Goebel of St. Louis; and grandson Teddy Bender of St. Louis. Frances was an active church member, loved the St. Louis Cardinals and loved spending time with her seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was a Carondelet YMCA Book Fair volunteer, teacher’s aide at Buder School and library volunteer at Wohlwend Elementary. Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 24 at John L. Ziegenhein Funeral Home South County. Burial was at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
