Bobby G. Eakins, 78, died Dec. 30 at his St. Louis home. 
Mr. Eakins was born March 1, 1939, in Gideon to Benjamin and Almedia (Chambers) Eakins. He was a 1959 graduate of the Missouri School for the Deaf.
Although Mr. Eakins truly lived life to the fullest, he loved the simple pleasures.
He most enjoyed watching and talking about sports. Mr. Eakins also enjoyed fishing and spending time talking and visiting with friends and family. He will be remembered as a shining light in the deaf community.
On Nov. 25, 1977, he married Ella Eakins, who survives. Other survivors include his daughters, Valda, Lorna and Krystal (Vincent); five grandchildren, Kyle, Danielle, Connor, Vinny and Jacen; a sister, Christine (Bill) Swartz; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In keeping with Mr. Eakins’ wishes, no funeral services were conducted.
