Burial Date: March 2, 2019. Arthur James Brickey Jr., 79, died Feb. 13. in De Soto. He was born April 11, 1939, in Sunset Hills. He is survived by children Randy Vivian, Kalvin (Kim) Vivian, Traci Morton and Jeff (Mary Margaret) Brickey; grandchildren Randy and Chris Morton, Aaron Cole and Heather Vivian, Ashley Erroy, and Teresa and Arthur Brickey; as well as three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, especially Paul Vivian, and was the special uncle of Katie and Natalie Weiss. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Mae Brickey (nee Vivian), and parents Arthur and Mary Brickey. Brickey was retired from Anheuser-Busch and was known as Santa or Big Jim. He was a good friend to all and loved to fish, hunt and play poker. He spent his last days at the Baischer Nursing Home in De Soto. He brought joy playing Santa for his children, his nieces, his nephews, the neighborhood children, his friends children, his grandchildren and for the children who saw him out and about. He loved the spirit of Christmas. He also made a Christmas Eve stop at St. Louis Childrens Hospital, which is why the family is asking for donations to the Childrens Hospital toy fund in his honor, in lieu of flowers.
