Obituary For Alane M Antoine (nee Johnson)
Alane Marie Antoine (nee Johnson), 72, died unexpectedly Feb. 15. She was born July 31, 1949, to the late John Johnson and Louise (nee Hahn). Alane graduated from Lindbergh High School then Webster University with a master’s degree in Education. She went on to become an art teacher at Seckman Middle School in the Fox District where she created impactful lessons and countless meaningful relationships. Alane worked tirelessly to bring her love of art to the community painting floats every year for the VP 4th of July Parade – educating citizens as a docent at Laumeier Sculpture Park and providing backstage support to St. Louis Opera Theater cast members. Alane was exceptional; she poured her heart and talent into everything she did. She was best known for her vivacious, charismatic personality and her undeniable talent with any project she took on. Her interests included painting and photography, cooking, event planning, gardening, traveling and freely exploring Missouri’s countryside. It is a certainty that this woman left her mark on this earth and in the hearts of so many people. Truly one of a kind who will be forever remembered, never forgotten. She is survived by significant other David Ulrich of Washington, Missouri; daughter Amber Cook of St. Louis; stepsons Michael Antoine (Joann) of Kirkwood, Peter Antoine (Edina) of Affton; stepdaughter, Helen Antoine (Alice Younger) of Kirkwood; grandchildren: Rachel, Allison, Carolyn, Samantha and Maya; four great-grandchildren; brother, John Johnson (Connie) of Springfield; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her spouse of 31 years, Louis Harris Antoine Jr.
