To the editor:
The Nov. 6 election is fast approaching and it’s important that we elect statesmen rather than politicians. Yes, statesmen do still exist.
Politicians are more concerned with winning favor or seeking personal or partisan gain and retaining power than with maintaining principles.
They blindly follow party lines to support legislation even if it isn’t good policy.
Statesmen, however, serve foremost with wisdom and conviction to do what is in the best interest of their constituents: their district, state and ultimately — their country. Missouri state Sen. Jim Lembke is such a statesman.
Those of you who want to repeal Obamacare need to be careful who you vote for — not only on the federal level, but also on the state level. Sen. Lembke opposes Obamacare, as do 70 percent of Missourians.
He has played an instrumental role in blocking government funding earmarked to implement Obamacare.
I hope you will join me in supporting Sen. Lembke on Nov. 6, as well as two of our outstanding state representatives: Marsha Haefner, of Oakville, and Cloria Brown, of Lemay.
