The Oakville girls golf program enters the new season with momentum and depth, as head coach Emily Baker leads a talented group that returns nearly its entire roster from last year.
The Tigers only graduated one player, meaning Baker’s squad brings back a wealth of experience and competitive drive.
“We had a record number of girls come out for the team this year, which is exciting,” Baker said. “A lot of these girls have been in the program for three or four years. The experience should really help us be a competitive team.”
At the top of the lineup are seniors Ava Ross and Via Wideman, who both earned First Team All-Conference honors last season. Their consistency and leadership will set the tone for OHS. They’ll be joined by classmates Addi Endermuhle and Aubrey Cillo, who landed Second Team All-Conference recognition last year.
Baker said the depth among her seniors is the team’s biggest strength, with players like Addalyn Ross, Karly Koenig, Maggie Abel and Natalie Girard expected to contribute as well. Between the senior leadership and a strong junior class, Oakville looks well-positioned to compete in every match.
With so much experience returning, Baker has set the bar high for her team. She believes the Tigers can achieve a winning record, put multiple players on the All-Conference teams, and even see a few qualify for the state tournament.
“Our goal is to take the next step as a program,” Baker said. “I think this group is ready to make a strong push and really showcase the talent we’ve built.”
