Drivers traveling Interstate 55 in south St. Louis County between Lindbergh Boulevard and Reavis Barracks Road should be aware of a planned lane shift Friday.

Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will shift three northbound lanes on I-55 between Lindbergh and Reavis Barracks to the southbound side of the interstate beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22. The lane shift should be completed – with three lanes of northbound traffic moved to the southbound lanes – by 6 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23.

This lane shift is part of a multi-year project to renovate many of the bridges on I-55 between Interstate 44 in St. Louis City and Lindbergh Boulevard. This specific phase of the project involves replacing the deck on the bridges over Gravois Creek and Green Park.

Additional lane shifts and ramp closures should be expected as crews continue to work along the corridor throughout the duration of the project. MoDOT will provide information on those closures as they are implemented.
