MoDOT holds open house on four-year bridge closures at I-44/I-270

MoDOT holds open house on four-year bridge closures at I-44/I-270

The Missouri Department of Transportation will host an open house next week on a four-year project set to start next year that would replace four bridges around the Interstate 44 and Interstate 270 interchange.

Residents can give their feedback on the plans at the open house-style public meeting from 4  to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, in the Business Administration Building of St. Louis Community College-Meramec, 11333 Big Bend Road, Kirkwood.

The plans call for replacement of both I-44 bridges west of I-270 over the Meramec River along with two ramp bridges between I-44 and Geyer Road/Watson Road.

During the meeting, MoDOT engineers will give residents information about the closure plans, schedule, detours and expected impact to commuters. Participants can come and go during open house hours.

Residents in turn can offer engineers feedback on the project or write comments on potential impacts of the construction.
