Four Mehlville Fire Protection District firefighters recently were promoted to the rank of captain by the Board of Directors.

Board members voted during a Dec. 9 closed session to promote Jason Appel, Brian Hendricks, Tim White and Polk Williams to the rank of captain.

“The Board of Directors voted unanimously to promote these four individuals,” Board of Directors Chairman Aaron Hilmer told the Call.

“They all have shown a positive attitude and a willingness to move the district forward. And we will be looking for more individuals like this the next time we do promotions,” the board chairman added.

Appel has been employed by the fire district since June 1998.

Hendricks has been a Mehlville employee since June 1998.

White has been employed by the fire district since June 1985.

Williams has been a Mehlville employee since May 1990.
