Metro sets community workshop next week

The Metro transit agency will conduct its second community workshop in south county on its long-range transit plan next week.

The workshop will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, in the Main Library of Mehlville Senior High School, 3200 Lemay Ferry Road.

Metro planning officials will present the results from October’s workshop, along with potential strategies for meeting the community’s transit needs and the next steps in its long-range plan.

The event is sponsored by Metropolitan Congregations United. For more information, visit

Feedback from the Metro transit agency’s first round of public-engagement sessions on its long-term plan showed area residents prefer MetroLink expansion but realize that it’s an expensive undertaking, according to Metro officials.
