Kevin Green, a physical education teacher at Blades Elementary School, was honored with the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award for the 2023-2024 school year, representing Mehlville School District. He is one of nearly 100 educators from the St. Louis area recognized by Emerson for exceptional teaching.

Praised for his dedication and for fostering an engaging, friendly classroom environment, Green is noted for encouraging his students to embrace challenges and adopt a growth mindset. With 14 years of service in the district, Green has become a valued member of the Bobcats community, focusing on the long-term health and well-being of his students.

A product of Mehlville School District himself, Green said of the honor, “It was a dream of mine when I decided to be a PE teacher that I would work in the district because all the way from the top, they care about the kids, which is the most important thing. I was shocked when I received this award, and I’m incredibly honored.”
