Staff Report
The Mehlville School District has received the best possible opinion on its audited financial statements for fiscal 2011.
Daniel Jones & Associates, certified public accountants, presented the district’s audit report on financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011, to the Board of Education at its Nov. 17 regular meeting.
The board voted unanimously to approve the report.
While Missouri school districts are required to have audits performed every other year, Mehlville has its financial statements audited annually.
“On behalf of Daniel Jones & Associates, I’d like to thank the board for giving us the opportunity to audit Mehlville School District for the year ending June 30, 2011,” Mark Janiesch said.
He also thanked Chief Financial Officer Noel Knobloch and his staff for their cooperation during the audit.
“… We as auditors are to look at the district and issue opinions as to whether or not the school district has been presented fairly in all material respects or has any material misstatements in their financial data, internal controls or federal programs,” Janiesch told the school board. “We issued opinions on Pages 1, 50, 56 and 58 on these items. The school district received an unqualified opinion on all these pages. This is the highest opinion a district can receive …
“In closing, I would like to congratulate the school district for having an excellent audit …,” he said.
